4th Annual Images In Advertising Awards
July 28: New York City
Commercial Closet Association has announced the nominees for the 4th annual Images In Advertising Awards, recognizing companies that best demonstrated inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals (GLBT) in mainstream advertising campaigns that appeared in 2007. The award winners will be announced during a ceremony on July 28 at New World Stages in New York City.

Nathan Lane Returns to Broadway in Mamet’s 'November'

Nathan Lane has been cast as the President of the United States in David Mamet's November, a new political comedy that touches on civil marriages, gambling casinos, lesbians, American Indians, presidential libraries, questionable pardons and campaign contributions. The play, directed by Joe Mantello, begins previews on December 20 at the Barrymore Theatre and will open on January 17, 2008.

Stonewall Chorale Celebrates Thirty Gay Years In Song

With the 2006/2007 season, the Stonewall Chorale celebrates 30 years of making music. This season’s concerts include a March 31st performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, featuring special guests Meredith Monk and her Vocal Ensemble, and a June 23rd performance at Symphony Space celebrating the Chorale’s 30 year history with a salute to the Gay Pride movement.

Matthew Bourne's Reinvention of 'Edward Scissorhands'

He wowed the world with his all male interpretation of Swan Lake and now, director/choreographer Matthew Bourne is back with his re-imagining of Tim Burton's 1990 film Edward Scissorhands. The production, which originated in London in December 2005, will have a three-week New York premiere at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House March 14-31, followed by engagements in Toronto, St. Paul, Denver and Seattle.
